In My Own Words
Mike McClosky, Class of 2013
“My experience at St. Elizabeth has truly shifted my mindset about educational institutions. In my short time here, I have grown to realize that the school faculty and staff do not only care about test scores and grades, but care also about the personal and family situations of each student. For instance, literally days after my sister had a very major spinal surgery this past fall, I received a card in the mail signed by almost every single faculty member at my school. It would be a massive understatement to say that St. Elizabeth is devoted to its students. Some say, “the people make the place.” In the case of St. E, its people exemplify its core values. The faculty, staff and administrators are the best group of role models and examples of Benedictine hospitality I have ever seen – and the great majority of St. E students are as kind as the people that educate them. It’s very clear that every faculty member wants the best for their students. Just recently, I was nominated by my teachers to attend the Governor's School for Excellence – which has become one of the most enjoyable and enriching educational experiences of my life. This just would not have happened for me without the encouragement of those teachers. In complete honesty, it is through St. Elizabeth High School that I have experienced some of the best times of my life”.
