School
Activities
School activities are
listed in the Handbook.
All clubs elect officers
and develop rules of
operation. All club
funds are to be kept in
the Student Account in
the Main Office.
Duplicate books are to
be kept by the club
Treasurer.
Trips sponsored by clubs
must take place outside
school time.
Four
publications
are planned
for the school year:
The
Trumpet: The school
newspaper will be
published periodically.
The
Trumpet II: The alumni
newspaper is published
and mailed to families
three times a year.
The Shakespearean: The literary magazine is
published in May.
The Magnificat: The yearbook is published in
May.
Students should consider
carefully the time and
commitment involved in
each activity so that
they do not become
over-extended. It is
preferable to be an
active member of a few
clubs rather than an
inactive member of many.
Moderators may request
that students limit
their activities if they
feel it is in the best
interest of the club and
the student.
Activity Period
One
period a week is
designated an Activity
period, primarily so
that meetings can be
held during the school
day. Activities will
meet at this time on a
rotating schedule.
Students not involved in
activities will stay in
homeroom for a silent
study period. Activity
Period is scheduled from
October to April on most
Thursdays.
