STUDENT HANDBOOK 2008 - 2009

 Early Dismissals
We ask parental cooperation in limiting requests for early dismissals to occasions when no other arrangement can be made. There are a number of half days, school holidays and early dismissals in the school calendar. Appointments should be made whenever possible at these times.

Each student is limited to three early dismissals. Parents provide students with a note on the day of the early dismissal stating the reason. If early dismissal is for a doctor’s or court appointment, when the student returns to school, he must present a note from the appropriate office. After three early dismissals students are subject to the same demerit/detention system as for “Late Arrival".

Late Arrival - Students are permitted three late arrivals to school without any penalty. After three, all late arrivals warrant a late detention. Demerits will accumulate at a rate of two to one (two late detentions equal one demerit). After ten late detentions a letter will be sent home to advise parents, and the students will not be excused from late detention for any reason except an emergency. Excused late arrivals will only be granted for doctor appointments and court appointments with official notes.
