GOLDEN RULES OF PEER TUTORING

You:
  • are responsible for your educational success.  You need to talk with your Teacher about areas where you are having difficulties.
  • need to have all of your assignments clearly written in your Student Agenda Book.
  • are responsible for completing all of your assignments.
  • are to come to each tutoring session prepared and ready to work.  Have your assignments ready, bring your Agenda Book each day.  Tell your Tutor what you are working on in class, when your next test/quiz is, what your homework assignments are, and where you are having problems.

Tutors:

  • You shall always show respect for your Peer Tutor.  Peer Tutors are academically successful students due to their own hard work.  Peer Tutors have their own school assignments to work on.  They are giving up this time to help you.  You need to appreciate this sacrifice they are making for you.
  • You shall follow the suggestions of your Peer Tutor, for example: making flash cards for language vocabulary words, trying extra problems, or asking your teacher specific questions.
  • Your Tutor will not do your homework for you.  They may help you understand the problems and help you learn techniques for solving them.
