PLACEMENT  TEST  PREP  COURSE


Thank you to the 65 eighth graders who attended our 4th High School Placement Test Prep Course.  We will run our 5th class next year in November 2009.

Our Prep Course is designed for girls and boys who are motivated and focused on doing well on the High School Placement Test. Students wanting to prepare for the test and approach it with a more positive attitude are encouraged to register for the course.  St. Elizabeth High School teachers will teach the classes.  Students will be encouraged to apply the concepts they learn to the High School Placement Test that is offered at St. Elizabeth High School on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 8:30 a.m.  

Prep Course Overview:
St. Elizabeth High School offers eighth grade girls and boys a one week program that will help in the following ways: 

  • Improve learning skills
  • Familiarize students with the High School Placement Test (HSPT)
  • Build confidence in test taking abilities
  • Introduce students to an exciting high school experience

The Prep Course is designed to prepare students for the Diocesan High School Placement Test and St. Elizabeth High School scholarship consideration.  The course will focus on helping students acquire greater expertise in reading, verbal, math, and test taking skills.  The subjects covered will include:  

  • Reading comprehension and vocabulary
  • Grammar, usage, and writing skills
  • Algebraic operations
  • Problem solving
  • Time management
  • Test taking skills
Workshop Overview

Location:  St. Elizabeth High School

Dates:  Monday, November 3  - Thursday, November 6, 2008

Time:  3:30 – 5:40 p.m.

Cost:  $125.00 (includes textbook, tablet, and pencils)

Enrollment:  Enrollment is limited to 30 students per session.

Deadline to Enroll:  Friday, October 24, 2008.

Cancellation Policy:  Please note that your fee is refundable (minus cost of the textbook) if you cancel at least two weeks prior to the Prep Course.  No refunds will be made after that time.
